This was a disaster, quite frankly. I thought I was getting a rental at the airport, so I took the shuttle to the Enterprise location there. I found that I was supposed to get the car from a location about 10 miles from there. Fortunately, a friend was able to give me a ride there. It probably would have been a $40 cab ride. When we got there, I found they were closed for the day. There was still a person there who told me they could not help me. So I had to cancel the reservation. Rather than go to that location, I made a new reservation on Hotwire with a different company at a location near the airport. I recognize that this was partly my fault for not checking the original pick-up location.
If there was a way to make it obvious that you are not reserving at the airport location, it would help. I know car rental agencies have cut hours and cars due to the pandemic. Maybe they need to automate more of the process so cars can be picked up after hours. Like those car-sharing companies.
